Abby is from Denver, Colorado, and is passionate about using advocacy, education, and public interest law to support immigrant families and underserved communities. As the daughter of immigrants, Abby vividly remembers the fear and uncertainty many families in her community face. Those experiences inspired her to pursue a future in immigration and public interest law, where she hopes to help create systems rooted in dignity, belonging, and opportunity. Abby has already taken meaningful steps toward that goal through her involvement in youth policy programs, national advocacy networks, and educational equity initiatives focused on amplifying student voices. She also founded Luminary Scholars, a platform that connects students to educational opportunities and resources, supporting thousands of young people navigating systems that often feel inaccessible. Growing up translating documents and navigating complex systems for her family taught Abby how to advocate for others, ask difficult questions, and lead with empathy and patience. Whether mentoring younger students through college planning or advocating for clearer educational resources at the district level, she is committed to strengthening the communities that shaped her. Abby hopes her legacy will be one of replacing fear with opportunity and ensuring that young people from communities like hers can see possibility in their futures.
