Aidan is from Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is passionate about educational equity, student voice, and building systems that help young people discover and pursue their passions. Early in his life, he often struggled to answer the question of what he wanted to be when he grew up, and he experienced what he describes as “passion killing” from people who dismissed his ambitions before he had the chance to explore them. These experiences shaped his belief that students thrive when they are surrounded by encouragement, guidance, and belief in their potential. Aidan has worked to address the over-reliance on technology in classrooms and advocate for more balanced, effective learning environments for both students and teachers. His advocacy contributed to meaningful discussions and policy changes within the district, reinforcing his commitment to student-centered reform. Aidan’s personal growth was also shaped by his relationship with his father, a U.S. military veteran living with PTSD, which taught him the importance of empathy, patience, and understanding in moments of conflict. Through this experience, he learned how to transform tension into communication and compromise. Looking ahead, Aidan plans to pursue political science and international relations with the goal of becoming a diplomat focused on global education reform and passion-based learning systems. He hopes his legacy will be one of helping students everywhere feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue their true passions without fear or limitation.
