Gabe is from Chicago, where growing up in a multigenerational family inspired him to see technology not just as a tool, but as a way to serve others. Whether helping his grandparents troubleshoot their devices or patiently teaching relatives new technology, he discovered a passion for making innovation more accessible and empowering for everyone. At Oberlin College, Gabe plans to study communications, combining storytelling, technology, and creativity to build more inclusive ways for people to connect. His commitment to lifting others extends beyond technology—from serving as president of his school’s Casa de Raza Latino Student Union and treasurer of the Wolcott Service Collective to a memorable moment as a cross-country captain when he slowed his own race to help a frightened freshman cross the finish line with confidence. Grounded in empathy, patience, and a belief that no one should feel left behind, Gabe hopes to create communities where people of every generation feel connected, supported, and empowered.
