Romeo is from Waukegan, Illinois, where his experiences growing up and serving his community have shaped his passion for leadership, connection, and storytelling. Recognizing that students at his school needed a space to share their creativity, he founded and led the Music Club, building a community where students can collaborate and express themselves. When faced with challenges sustaining participation, Romeo took the time to understand his peers and help them feel invested, reflecting his belief that, “This is bigger than me. It’s not my legacy — it’s ours.” As Co-Captain of the volleyball team and a Student Ambassador, Romeo continues to lead with humility, empathy, and a commitment to uplifting those around him. Through personal and academic challenges, he has developed resilience and a belief that growth is defined not by setbacks, but by the lessons learned along the way. Romeo will attend Loyola University Chicago to study multi-media journalism, where he hopes to use storytelling as a tool to amplify voices, reach communities, and help people feel seen and understood. With a deep commitment to service and connection, Romeo is determined to create a lasting impact by telling the stories that bring people together.
