Kevin Colón

Kevin is of Puerto Rican heritage. He had a Latin upbringing and had to adapt to life in the US (Kentucky). He relied on two different communities as a youth: his family, and the village of people around him teaching him English and new norms of American society. In college, Kevin realized that some communities accept you for who you are, and some can only accept you if you are exactly like them. Through those experiences, he learned so much about adapting and loving himself enough to stand as an individual. “Communicating through conflict is essential to making strong bonds, intentionality is the only way to make community happen, quantity AND quality is key, crucial conversations, and forgiveness…” Today, as a church leader, he is building his own community.
